Faith Kitchen is located on Blackwell Street in Dover and serves a hearty meal to between 75 and 100 people Monday through Saturday. St. Therese participates in the program on Saturdays. Each Saturday, three or four cooks prepare a hot meal consisting of a meat, starch and vegetable and bring the food to the Rectory around 10:00 am. Servers for that week transport the food to the Faith Kitchen by 10:30 am, make coffee, juice and sandwiches, set the tables and set out fruit and pastries. The kitchen opens at 11:30 for serving the meal. Any left over food is distributed in takeout containers. The kitchen is cleaned up and servers are usually able to depart by 12:30. The schedule for cooking or serving is prepared on a six-month basis and people are usually scheduled twice in that time frame.
