Important Information
It has been brought to our attention that information regarding Confirmation is being circulated on Face Book – the author of the post is saying that at St Therese we have changed the year Confirmation will be administer to the 8th grade rather than in the 10th grade.
THIS INFORMATION IS FALSE.

Some background - Up until a few years ago all parishes in the Paterson Diocese  confirmed their youth parishioners in 10th grade (2nd year of High School).   About 5 years ago, a few parishes asked Bishop Serratelli (now retired), if they could run a pilot program / test to see if it would be beneficial to move confirmation to either 8th or 9th grade.  Since then, out of approximately 105 parishes within the Diocese, only 10 – 15 parishes opted to move confirmation to either 8th or 9th grade.

Three years ago when Bishop Sweeney, was appointed to the Paterson Diocese.  He made the decision allowing the Pastors to decide when their younger parishioners where to be confirmed.  At St Therese our Pastor, Fr Richard Kilcomons, made the decision we would NOT LOWER THE GRADE of Confirmation, but continue to confirm the students in 10th grade.
